If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, If You Give a Pig a Pancake, If You Give a Cat a Cupcake, are all well-known, favorites of young readers all over the world. At Day Camp we did our own rendition of If You Give a Mouse a Cookie. It’s Kona Ice day here at Day camp and we decided to read the book, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie.

While reading the book, we looked at the author, Laura Numeroff and we looked closely at the sequence of events. Some of the younger kids learned the word “Sequence” today at Day Camp! Then, we split up and each camper wrote their own story of “If you Give a Day Camper Kona Ice.” I wish I had the space to share everyone’s story, but today we will be featuring McKenna and Josh’s stories. Enjoy these stories written by your children!

If You Give a Day Camper Kona Ice

By MaKenna

If you give a day camper Kona ice, she or he will get so hyper she will blast up the outer space! Then she will fall back down and ask for a napkin. After that, she will get cold and want a jacket, but she will want more Kona Ice because she is done. She will want her Kona Ice sour, but then she will not be happy because her Kona Ice is too sour. Then she will want more Kona ICe but she will not eat it and she will shove it in your face. Then, she will cold and want more Kona Ice!

If You Give a Day Camper Kona Ice

By: Josh

If you give a day camper Kona ice, chances are he’ll ask for some more than he might have too much sugar and want to play too much! Then, he will fall and start bleeding. He will go to sit down and then he will fall asleep and have a dream that he went into space to Pluto! He met an alien named John at Pluto! The day camper and John will have a lot of fun and then he will return to camp an hour later when his parents come to pick him up. When his parents come, his mom will ask him what he did today and he will say, “I got some Kona Ice!”

All the day campers did a fabulous job! Thank you Josh and Makenna for writing fabulous stories! Unfortunately, we do not have any pictures from our fun morning! If you would like to see your child’s story-let me know!
